I like Peregrine Senior Living at Shaker. I’m insulin diabetic, and there are a couple of other people with health issues; it would be nice if they made food that I and a couple of others could regularly eat. However, I manage—my sugar has been great, so that’s good.
My living space is cozy. I have a nice living room; it’s not that big, but I’ve managed to fit all my stuff in it. The bedroom is behind the living room and is plenty big enough for me.
Regarding activities, we have a variety this afternoon, including bingo, and I run a meditation group. I enjoy doing any crafts at all. Sometimes, they bring in live performers to sing for us, and they throw parties—like the one for Mardi Gras, followed by Valentine’s Day, so they sugared us up for those two days.
I’m very outgoing and make friends easily. The facility’s upkeep is excellent. Someone comes every Sunday to clean my apartment. On Thursday, I put my laundry outside in the hall; it disappears and comes back on Friday, all washed and folded. The facility is very clean, and we have three maintenance guys who will fix or repair anything we need.
